Hogwarts Legacy is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games of 2023. Even before its official launch, its success is undeniable, as it recently became a Best-Selling Game on Steam.

This game has been expected for a long time. Many fans of the most famous wizard in the world (sorry, Gandalf) have been waiting for a video game like this one for decades.

In fact, previous Harry Potter games didn’t receive the best reviews since they were short, simple, and uncreative. But Hogwarts Legacy seems to be everything we hoped for in a video game inspired by the world created by J.K Rowling.

What is Hogwarts Legacy about?

The game is set at the end of the 19th century, it is an open-world RPG, and it promises to make the most of the wizarding world. We are facing a new story, never seen before, with new characters and villains.

So far, we know that you can customize your character. Once you have done that, you will go through the Sorting Hat ceremony to choose your house. However, it is possible to choose it through the WB Games and Harry Potter Fan Club accounts. So, what will yours be? Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff?

Although the trailer shows exciting moments, there is little information about the storyline.

We also know that there will be magical creatures and classes to rank up your level as a player. Besides, you can visit other places in the magical world. Some images include Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley, and the Forbidden Forest.

Other details, such as the game’s length, are still a mystery. But we estimate that the main story will take you around 20 hours to beat it. Also, we would like to know if it offers a friendly, relaxed adventure or a darker one.

When does Hogwarts Legacy come out?

Although Hogwarts Legacy initial release date was during 2022. Hogwarts Legacy will finally be released on February 10, 2023, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. So, February will be an excellent month for the gaming world. Muggles of the world, rejoice!

Then, on April 4, you can play it on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Finally, on July 25, it will be available for Nintendo Switch.

We heard about this video game for the first time during the announcement of the new PlayStation 5 in 2020. But, since then, it has suffered some delays.

Of course, after those hiccups, gamers have greater expectations, which could have a positive or negative effect after its release.

We think that Hogwarts Legacy will be controversial when it comes out. Some will love it, and some will hate it since it is part of a franchise with many passionate and demanding fans.

What to expect from Hogwarts Legacy?

At first glance, it is a video game that promises a lot. The first game images we saw made us feel quite optimistic. Of course, it is an ambitious game since you can explore Hogwarts and its surroundings.

In the most recent Hogwarts Legacy gameplay, we saw that you could travel on foot or fly on a broom or a hippogriff. We also saw excellent graphics and cool features.

Besides, the fighting mechanic looks very interesting. We can learn spells and potions and gradually improve our abilities.

However, in recent famous game releases, we’ve seen many bugs and glitches that completely ruin the experience. Lately, it has become common to see AAA games being released while not being finished. For example, Cyberpunk 2077, Battlefield 2042, and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet had many issues at launch. And even if these games are eventually patched, having a big disappointment during the first weeks of a game’s life cycle could permanently hinder any chance of success.

But one can hope that, since Hogwarts Legacy was delayed several times, producers had time to fix serious issues. Actually, we will enjoy a late release on Nintendo Switch, so we hope it will be enjoyable and optimized for that console.

How much will Hogwarts Legacy cost?

Let’s talk about money! Depending on the device you use to play, Hogwarts Legacy‘s price varies.

The cost in physical format is $69.99 in its versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in stores in the United States. Meanwhile, the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions will cost $59.99.

So it has the average price of the most recent and popular video games.

You can preorder in popular Hogwarts Legacy platforms, such as Steam, Epic Games, or Amazon. We understand that some people prefer to wait for the first reviews of the game. But if you really want to start playing it from day one, you can pre-purchase now.

Hogwarts Legacy voice cast

The actor Simon Pegg will play Phineas Nigellus Black, one of the least loved headmasters in Hogwarts’ history. This character comes from a long lineage of Slytherins. He is arrogant and hated by the students, so it is evident that his passion is not teaching. But he likes having such an important position in one of the world’s most renowned schools of magic.

Your playable character will have the voice of Sebastian Croft or Amelia Gething. This playable avatar is a student entering Hogwarts for the first time.

Lesley Nicol will play Professor Matilda Weasley, the Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts. She might remind you a bit of Professor Minerva McGonagall since both characters are Gryffindor.

You will also enjoy the performance of other voice actors, including Kandace Caine, Luke Youngblood, and Jason Anthony.

Are you ready to go to Platform 9¾?

With all this, we hope to discover a magical and fantastic video game this February 10, 2023.
