The gaming universe celebrated a dazzling night at The Game Awards 2023, where the top-notch titles of the year were honored, and the industry showcased its future with remarkable announcements. The night was filled with unexpected moments, thrilling reveals, and outstanding victories that excited fans worldwide.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Dominates the Game Awards

Baldur’s Gate 3 emerged as the crowning champion, sweeping multiple awards, including the prestigious “Game of the Year” title. The Dungeons and Dragons saga secured the top honor and triumphed in categories like Best RPG, Best Community Support, and Best Multiplayer.

Also, Neil Newbon’s stunning performance earned the Best Performance award as he is the epic Astarion Voice Actor. This was well deserved, as Astarion is one of the best Baldur’s Gate 3 characters.

Larian Studios also did the most waited announcment for this game: Baldur’s Gate 3 Xbox is a reality now!

Alan Wake 2 and Some Unforgettable Moments

The surreal horror adventure Alan Wake 2 wasn’t far behind. It secured Best Directing, Best Narrative, and Best Art Direction recognition. Its standout moment was a live musical performance featuring the game’s stars and creator, Sam Lake. They performed an interpretive dance set to heavy metal, leaving the audience spellbound.

The evening wasn’t short of peculiarities. Hideo Kojima and Jordan Peale‘s surprise appearance revealed a mysterious new collaboration named OD. A star-studded lineup including Matthew McConaughey, Timothée Chalamet, Simu Liu, and others teased game-related projects and presented awards. The YouTuber and streamer IronMouse accepted the Content Creator of the Year award in character, adding a touch of the extraordinary to the event.

Unveilings and Announcements

Beyond the awards, the ceremony showcased exciting game teasers and announcements. Titles like Monster Hunter Wilds, Persona’s Metaphor: ReFantazio, and Arkane Lyon’s Blade-based game had fans on the edge of their seats. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth revealed a stunning new song and secured the Most Anticipated Game award.

There are also new games with high expectations, like Jurassic Park: Survival (A Mirror’s Edge-like video game where you will try not to be eaten by a T-Rex). Another highlight was the new video game by the Life is Strange creators, Lost Records: Bloom and Rage, which seems very promising.
