1) Lara Croft

To this point, and if you really are a big fan of video games, it’s impossible that you have not heard about Lara Croft. She is the main character of the video game franchise Tomb Raider. What does make her awesome? She is a brilliant and athletic British archaeologist who goes into ancient tombs and ruins worldwide. 

Lara is strong, fearless, and independent that loves to be outside adventuring and doing what she knows best. When thinking about giving up, remember her and stand tall to face every challenge you may encounter on the road. That’s the most important thing you can learn from Lara and what makes her one of the best female video game characters of all time: giving up it’s not an option; always fight for what you want.

2) Ellie 

The world can now know Ellie, not just by playing “The Last Of Us” but also by watching the HBO series of the same name based on the game’s story. Ellie grew up as an orphan in the Boston quarantine zone and attended a military preparatory school. The world seems to come to an end, but Ellie is the hope! She’s immune to Cordyceps brain infection and probably the answer to finally getting a vaccine. 

Ellie is not afraid of doing what she has to do to keep herself and Joe safe. She’s full of strength and resilience, even though she has faced so many things. Ellie is ready to fight for herself and her loved ones. She won’t give up without fighting. And What makes it even more impressive? She’s just a little girl! And without a doubt, she’s one of the best female video game characters you can find.

3) Jill Valentine 

Her character is part of the Resident Evil series, and she’s a former member of the Raccoon City Police Department’s S.T.A.R.S team. Her job is to fight the Umbrella Corporation. This is a pharmaceutical company whose bioterrorism creates zombies and other bio-organic weapons.

But what makes her worthy of being on this list? Intelligent, brave, and loyal… That’s the best way to describe her. 

Valentine excelled at bomb disposal during her training with Delta Force. Later she joined the Special Tactics and Rescue Service (STARS) special operations unit. Besides, she has tons of experience with weapons and explosives material. We certainly can call her one of the most badass female characters in video game history. 

Favorite Jill Valentine’s quote: “It’s true that once the wheels of justice begin to turn, nothing can stop them. Nothing.”

4) Jodie Holmes

Jodie is a character from Beyond: Two Souls. You can imagine how strong she is just by how badly the military wants her on their side, even if it is to run experiments. She was born with a strange and unexplained gift (She’s connected to a spirit), but she often considers it a curse. Jodie usually is reserved and shy but generally good-hearted, selfless, and brave. 

This ability to connect with the spirit makes her capable of targeting enemies that are distant from her. Jodie can have items thrown across a room and even harm people that are on the floor above her. Wait for a second; this is not the only awesome thing about her: She has military training. Which basically turns her into a human weapon because she can destroy you with both: her mind and body! 

Favorite Jodie Holmes quote: “Tell them to leave me the fuck alone, because next time, I’ll kill everyone.”

5) Shanoa 

Let us introduce you to the heroine of Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, Shanoa. She’s leading the only group left that is committed to destroying Dracula in the Belmonts’ absence. Shanoa is serious, introverted, and strong, but sadly she is an amnesiac, which means she cannot remember her past at all. 

This woman is the representation of fearlessness. She won’t let anyone intimidate her; no matter who you are, you’re not getting to her by trying to scare her or making her believe she’s not capable.

When a woman knows her value, there’s nothing you can do against it, which is why we love her and why she is one of the best female gaming characters!
