Firstly, this Spiderman 2 video game review was written after the completion of the game. You are likely to spend around 24-28 hours to beat it.

Spiderman 2 explores the daily life of our beloved Spidermen, Peter Parker and Miles Morales. In this title, you will discover how they are trying to support each other. Also, they can have a glimpse of what it’s like to live a normal life without hurrying to the rescue of New York citizens every 5 minutes. Still, with the introduction of new villains and the appearance of old ones, their efforts to live a regular lifestyle will be futile. At least until our heroes save the day!

The Freedom of Movement in the Spiderman 2 Video Game

The Mobility of Marvel’s Spiderman and Spiderman Miles Morales was the best I have ever seen in any superhero game. So I expected great things from Marvel’s Spiderman 2, and Oh boy! This game does not disappoint. The mobility is so good that even though you have the option to fast travel, you just don’t want to use it. Traveling through New York can be an entire game on its own. I spent hours swinging between the buildings. This aspect of the game alone makes it a must-play.

The Art of Battle: Spiderman 2 Combat Mechanics

The Spiderman 2 combat mechanics are excellent. Destroying villains has never been this satisfying, and you can encounter Miles or Peter in the city to help you take down the criminals, depending on who you are playing at the moment. They even have different finishers and interactions when they are working together, and more than once, they made me smile with their way of having fun while saving everyone at the same time.

Storytelling and Missions in Spider-Man 2 Video Game

The story has its ups and downs in showcasing the struggles of our superheroes, Peter and Miles. Don’t get me wrong, they have a lot of cool missions, but some of them can be super annoying, especially when you need to explore Miles’s school or the company where Peter is going to work.

And just in case you’re wondering… Yes, Mary Jane has missions too! And no, the MJ missions are not like the first Spiderman video game! This MJ is a lot more aggressive and will fight as many criminals as she needs to protect the life of his beloved Peter Parker, which I think is a huge improvement over the first Spiderman game.

I enjoyed destroying criminals with her; she demonstrated that you don’t need superpowers to be a hero and that sometimes even a superhero needs saving, too.

The secondary missions are nothing to be super excited about, but the cool collectibles and unlockables make them worth the trouble of completing them all. Besides, some of them have very cool stories, so I recommend you meet all of them. It is this good, and you will enjoy every second of the Spiderman 2 video game.

Spider-Man 2’s Customization Choices

The Customization of the suits is also fantastic; they even included some of our favorite suits from the Spiderman movies! So you’ll never get tired of switching the looks of your favorite superhero. You can be your friendly neighborhood Spiderman or wear the black suit of the dark Spiderman from the Sony Pictures Spiderman 3 movie.

As you probably guessed by watching the trailer, you will have access to the Venom Suit, and let me tell you, this is a game-changer. Peter with the Venom Suit makes the game three times more enjoyable and visually spectacular.

Also, Peter’s newfound powers are way too awesome, with the side effect of becoming more and more evil as he uses the Venom symbiote more and more to destroy villains easily. Even Kraven is surprised by the huge increase of power Peter has in this state and wants to hunt him down just because of his unification with the Venom Symbiote.

Did Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Win Any of Its Seven Nominations at The Game Awards?

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 secured nominations in seven impressive categories, including the highly coveted Game of the Year award! Sadly, Spiderman 2 didn’t win any of its nominations. Nevertheless, it is still an honor to be nominated for The Game Awards, so this shouldn’t really reduce your willingness to play this amazing game!
